Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray have shown great interest in signing Ghanaian attacker Athletic Bilbao captain, Inaki Williams as they look to beef up their squad ahead of the 2025-2026 season.
The Turkish Cup champions have been monitoring the 30-year-old Ghanaian international as he appears to be on their radar following an impressive outing with the Spanish outfit both in the La Liga and the UEFA Europa League.
Williams, who became the substantive captain of the 2023-2024 Copa del Rey champions in the latter part of the just ended season, has attracted interest from several European clubs, with Galatasaray now reportedly among the frontrunners.
Inaki, known for his electrifying pace and power could become a positive addition to a Galatasaray side which is on the verge of losing red-hot attacker, Victor Osimhen who is being chased by other top European clubs, and are also preparing for both domestic and continental club campaigns.
While an official bid has not been tabled yet, discussions are expected to intensify in the coming weeks. Die-hard fans of the Istanbul giants have already expressed enthusiasm over the prospect of seeing the Bilbao star at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium in Istanbul.
Williams has spent almost his entire professional career at Athletic Bilbao since 2014, earning admiration for his loyalty and consistency in the city of Bilbao and a possible move to Turkey will become a novel adventure in the Ghanaian international's career as he will be looking forward to trying a different challenge and experience.
