Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has revealed that Ghana forward Jordan Ayew might be available for their upcoming English Premier League match against Chelsea this weekend.

Ayew, who recently suffered an injury during Ghana's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola, was unable to play in the Black Stars' subsequent match against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Despite the injury, Ayew had scored a stunning free-kick in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Angola.

After returning to Leicester for further medical assessment, Cooper provided an update, clarifying that the injury is less severe than initially feared.

While the situation is still being assessed, Cooper expressed hope that Ayew could be ready for Leicester's match against Chelsea on Saturday.

"It's not a serious injury, contrary to some reports. The hope is he may be available for the weekend, but we're a little inconclusive on that for the moment," Cooper said.

Since joining Leicester City from Crystal Palace in the summer, Ayew has made an impact, scoring two goals in 10 Premier League appearances for the Foxes.
