Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil has shed light on his decision to leave European football and join Major League Soccer (MLS) side LA Galaxy.

The five-time MLS champions signed Paintsil from Belgian giants KRC Genk in February, bringing him on as a Designated Player.

Since his arrival, Paintsil has made an immediate impact, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 14 matches.

Despite the high expectations from LA Galaxy's passionate fanbase, Paintsil remains composed and committed to helping the club achieve its objectives.

"When the news came, I was at the AFCON with the national team. I thought it was a great opportunity and a perfect move for me," Paintsil shared with the MLS. "In my mind, I knew that's where I wanted to go."

Addressing the pressure associated with playing for a prestigious team like LA Galaxy, Paintsil emphasized his focus and the supportive environment around him.

"No, I don't feel pressure," he stated. "I have fantastic players around me, so I don't feel any pressure. The more I put pressure on myself, the more difficult it becomes for me. So, I am calm and focused."

Paintsil's calm demeanor and positive outlook suggest that he is well-prepared to thrive in the MLS, contributing significantly to LA Galaxy's quest for success.
