Austrian center-back Kevin Danso, of Ghanaian descent, has been cleared to return to first-team football, according to a club announcement.

The 26-year-old defender for RC Lens had been sidelined due to a potential heart issue flagged by medical personnel.

Danso's situation took a dramatic turn during the summer transfer window when he had reached an agreement with AS Roma.

However, while undergoing medical examinations, a potential heart condition was discovered, leading the Italian club's medical team to conclude that he could not proceed with the transfer.

After a period of further testing and assessment, Lens confirmed that the heart complication has been resolved.

The club's statement indicated that a thorough invasive electrical study showed no signs of heart muscle scarring or electrical abnormalities that could lead to dangerous arrhythmias.

With this positive outcome, Danso has been deemed fit to resume competitive play.

This development comes as a significant boost for RC Lens, who have missed the contributions of Danso during his recovery.

His return to full fitness will be a welcome addition to the team's defensive lineup as they navigate the challenges of the season ahead.
