Ghanaian defender Kingsley Schindler played a pivotal role in Samsunspor's thrilling 4-3 victory over Goztepe in a dramatic Turkish Super Lig clash at Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadyumu on Saturday.

The match, part of Round 7, was filled with excitement as both teams exchanged leads multiple times.

Samsunspor had a rocky start when Zeki Yavru scored an own goal in the 13th minute, giving Goztepe an early advantage.

However, Marius Mouandilmadji equalized for Samsunspor in the 28th minute, only for Romulo Cruz to restore Goztepe's lead just before halftime, making it 2-1.

In the second half, Juan extended Goztepe's lead to 3-1 in the 50th minute, putting Samsunspor in a challenging position.

Yet, the home team staged an impressive comeback. Olivier Ntcham reduced the deficit in the 70th minute, assisted by Marc Bola, setting the stage for an exciting finish.

Schindler leveled the score at 3-3 in the 79th minute, converting a cross from Yavru, showcasing his attacking prowess.

The decisive moment arrived in stoppage time when Ntcham netted his second goal, sealing a spectacular 4-3 win for Samsunspor.

Samsunspor will look to build on this momentum as they prepare to face Adana Demirspor on October 6, with Schindler expected to play a key role.

He was also included in the recent Black Stars call-up, having sat on the bench during Ghana's 1-0 defeat to Angola and the 1-1 draw against Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Schindler will aim to secure a spot in the squad for the crucial matches against Sudan in October.
