24th November 2024
Ghanaian football legend Malik Jabir has called for under-fire Black Stars coach Otto Addo to resign, following Ghana's failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Jabir believes Addo is not the right man for the job and has urged him to step down to preserve his reputation.
Speaking to Angel FM, the former Asante Kotoko star stated:
"Coach Otto Addo should tender in his resignation letter just to save his image because he is not the right man for the job."
Otto Addo has faced widespread criticism from fans and pundits alike after overseeing Ghana's unsuccessful AFCON qualifying campaign.
Many have expressed frustration with the team's performances and are calling for immediate action.
The Ghana Football Association's Executive Council is set to meet on Wednesday, November 27, to deliberate on Addo's future as head coach.
This decision will come amidst mounting pressure from the public and stakeholders to make significant changes within the national team setup.
The failure to qualify for the AFCON tournament marks a major setback for Ghana, a nation historically regarded as an African football powerhouse.
With this development, the call for a new direction and leadership has intensified, and Addo’s position hangs in the balance.
