Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, widely known as Mr. Beautiful, has revealed that he has been a registered member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for more than a decade.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie, the Kumawood actor shared insights into his political journey and what inspired him to formally join the party in 2010.

According to Mr. Beautiful, his political awakening was strongly influenced by the ideas of Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah. He explained that reading the book Voice From Conakry significantly shaped his views on leadership and governance.

“That book opened my eyes to certain realities about leadership and governance,” he said.

Beyond ideological influence, the actor noted that the NDC’s policies—particularly those aimed at supporting vulnerable groups—also strengthened his commitment to the party.
“The NDC has policies that favour the poor and the needy in the country,” he added.

Mr. Beautiful further explained that the party’s focus on social interventions and governance strategies has kept him loyal over the years.

Commenting on the broader economic situation in Ghana, he observed that the current climate appears more stable and predictable compared to previous years.

“You can plan your budget today and stick to it, unlike two years ago when life was very expensive,” he remarked.

The actor has been known for openly expressing his political views over the years and remains one of the most outspoken figures in Ghana’s entertainment industry when it comes to political matters.
