Multichoice, the owners of Digital Satellite Television (DStv), have reversed their earlier decision and announced that their sports channel, SuperSports, will now broadcast all 52 matches at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire.

This comes as a sharp departure from their initial announcement a week ago, stating that they would not broadcast the continental showpiece due to not having the rights.

Last week, the company had stated, "the channel has not secured the rights to broadcast the tournament... However, AFCON 2023 games will be available through our partner broadcast stations on Free to Air (FTA) channels."

In a surprising U-turn on Wednesday, Multichoice clarified that SuperSports would indeed televise all 52 matches to its audience.

This reversal brings relief to football fans across Africa who can now enjoy the AFCON action on DStv and GOtv platforms.

Multichoice reiterated its commitment to providing unrivaled access to entertainment and football games, including prestigious competitions such as the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Zambian Super League, and more.
