Antoine Semenyo says he believes the best years of his career are still ahead of him after completing a landmark move to Manchester City, describing his switch to the Premier League champions as the start of an exciting new chapter.

The Ghana forward was officially unveiled on Friday morning, becoming the first Ghanaian international to sign for City. Speaking after putting pen to paper, Semenyo expressed confidence that he can make a strong impact under Pep Guardiola as the club competes on multiple fronts this season.

“My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that,” Semenyo said. “City are in a great position, still involved in four competitions. I really feel I can help them have a strong second half of the season.”

The 26-year-old arrives at the Etihad Stadium on the back of an impressive spell at Bournemouth, where his pace, power and eye for goal made him one of the Premier League’s standout forwards. His performances earned him a reputation as a big-game player and eventually convinced City to make a record move for the Ghanaian.

Semenyo’s journey to the top has been defined by resilience. As a teenager, he endured rejection after unsuccessful trials at several English clubs, moments that almost pushed him out of the game altogether. More than a decade later, he now finds himself preparing for Champions League football alongside some of the world’s best players.

For Manchester City, Semenyo’s arrival adds another attacking option as they chase success domestically and in Europe. For Ghana, it is a moment of pride, with one of their own breaking new ground at one of football’s most dominant clubs.

As Semenyo looks ahead, his message is clear: the move to City is not the peak of his story, but the platform for what he believes will be his finest football yet.
