One dead, another rescued in crash on Accra–Kumasi highway

One person has died while another has been rescued following a fatal road accident at Adansi 47 Breku near Asankare on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.

According to reports, a cargo vehicle travelling toward Kumasi collided with a pick-up truck heading in the direction of Accra.

A joint rescue team from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) stations at Konongo–Odumase and Juaso responded swiftly to the accident scene.

Firefighters managed to extricate one injured victim from the wreckage, after which the person was transported by the National Ambulance Service Ghana to the Juaso Government Hospital for medical treatment.

The body of the deceased was also retrieved from the scene and handed over to the police to support further investigations into the circumstances that led to the crash.
