Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has stepped up his European monitoring tour, paying a personal visit to Germany on Wednesday night to watch Thomas Partey in action at the BayArena.

Addo was in the stands as Bayer Leverkusen recorded a convincing 3–0 victory over Villarreal in their UEFA Champions League encounter. Ghana’s deputy captain, Thomas Partey, was introduced at the start of the second half, coming on in the 46th minute as Villarreal struggled to contain the hosts’ intensity.

While the result went against Partey’s side, the night was significant off the pitch. After the final whistle, Addo spent time with the experienced midfielder, holding brief but important conversations as he continues to strengthen relationships with key players ahead of Ghana’s World Cup campaign in June.

The visit forms part of Addo’s wider efforts to closely monitor the form, fitness and mindset of his Europe-based stars, with the Black Stars preparing for what promises to be a demanding tournament.

Partey, one of Ghana’s most influential players in recent years, remains central to Addo’s plans, not only for his quality on the ball but also for his leadership within the squad.

As preparations quietly intensify, Addo’s presence in Europe underlines a hands-on approach, keeping close contact with his players, watching them in high-level competition, and ensuring the Black Stars head into the World Cup united, prepared and focused.
