FC Bocholt secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Wuppertal in their Regionalliga West encounter on October 5, with German-born Ghanaian midfielder Raphael Assibey-Mensah playing a pivotal role.
Wuppertal struck first through Marco Terrazzino, who volleyed in a goal in the 11th minute.
However, Bocholt quickly responded, with Marvin Lorch equalizing in the 32nd minute before heading in a second goal just before halftime, giving Bocholt a 2-1 lead.
Assibey-Mensah made a significant impact in the second half, scoring in the 54th minute with a stunning strike after expertly controlling a long pass from Akritidis, sending the ball into the top left corner to extend Bocholt’s lead to 3-1.
His commanding presence in midfield was crucial throughout the game.
Bocholt continued their dominance as Bogdan Shubin and Johannes Dörfler added two more goals, sealing an emphatic 5-1 win.
