Richard Ofori eager to relaunch career at AmaZulu after free transfer

Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori is determined to reignite his career at AmaZulu after recently signing with the club as a free agent.
Ofori, 30, is set to compete for the starting goalkeeper position at Usuthu alongside Veli Mothwa, Olwethu Mzimela, and Kwanele Mbanjwa.
Bringing a wealth of experience to the team, Ofori is no stranger to the KwaZulu-Natal region, having previously played for Maritzburg United (now known as Durban City).
The seasoned shot-stopper is focused on self-improvement and contributing to the team's collective success.
“I need to focus on how to improve myself and make things right here at AmaZulu,” Ofori told the media.
“The most important thing is we move as a team. We need to think about each other, not just ourselves. We’re here to improve and work as one family.”
After parting ways with Orlando Pirates at the end of last season, Ofori received several offers but waited for the right opportunity.
“Sometimes you need a new experience when you leave a club,” he explained. “I received a few offers, but they didn’t feel right. When AmaZulu called, I didn’t hesitate—it felt like home.”
Ofori made his debut in AmaZulu's 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch during the Carling Knockout last 16 match at King Zwelithini Stadium.
Despite early challenges, including coaching changes, Ofori remains positive about his journey with AmaZulu.
