Asante Kotoko forward, Albert Amoah has expressed his desire and readiness to feature in and show his abilities on the continental stage when the Porcupine Warriors take part in the 2025-2026 CAF Confederations Cup.

Amoah joined the record Ghana Premier League holders from Accra Great Olympics, scoring 12 goals in his debut campaign during the just concluded 2024/2025 season. He expressed mixed feelings about his performances in the past season which was hit by an injury midway through the campaign.

“That was not my target, my target was to score more than 12 goals. I will thanks to the supporters, my teammates will help me score the 12 goals,” Albert Amoah told Kotoko media.

“I’m not really happy with the 12 goals but it has already happened. I was plagued by injuries which disturbed my scoring chances. But whatever happens is for a good reason and I give thanks to God,” he added.

Albert Amoah was also left in total dismay over Kotoko’s failure to win the Ghana Premier League title — a championship eventually lifted by Bibiani Gold Stars for the first time. The two-time African champions shared the third spot with rivals Hearts of Oak on 58 points apiece and he admits that the playing body was distraught.

“We the players are pained by that feat because we were all planning to win the league. But that didn’t happen and we are all disappointed and there were mistakes we committed last season."

“There were some home and away matches we should have won and that also affected our chances of winning the league. We are all disappointed but we hope that next season, we will be able to win the league title."

The 23-year-old went on to talk about their FA Cup glory — a thrilling 2-1 win over Division One club Golden Kicks at the Legon Sports Stadium.

“I’m really pleased to have been part of the squad that won the FA Cup and I’m looking forward to adding more to it.”

Kotoko will represent Ghana at the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup — a competition they are yet to win and Amoah says he is ever ready to take the competition by storm.

“All will depend on hard work in training and I’m not the only player , it’s a collective effort.

“For Africa, I’m really prepared and it will be a collective effort from all of us and I have heard about the continental club football and I want to experience it.” Albert Amoah stated.

Kotoko recently parted ways with some key players, an exercise that will pave way for head coach, Abdul Karim Zito to reinforce the squad for next season’s football campaign.
