Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Boakye has shared his aspirations to represent the Black Stars, expressing that donning the national team jersey would be a “dream come true.”
Despite not being included in the most recent squad, Boakye remains hopeful about future opportunities. In an interview with Flashscore, he reflected on the importance of representing Ghana, while maintaining a patient outlook.
"I’m from Ghana, so it would be a dream to play for the country, but I am not going to force it and say I have to play in the national team," Boakye remarked, explaining that he is focused on excelling in his club career for now.
"The call-up could come today or tomorrow; I don’t know when, but when it comes, it will be good and I will be ready.”
Boakye, inspired by former Ghanaian international Sulley Muntari, sees Muntari’s dedication and ambition as a guiding example in his own career.
He credits the former Black Stars midfielder with fueling his desire to play with the same passion and influence.
