The chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has announced the prize package for the winners of this season’s MTN FA Cup as the competition heads into its quarter-final stage this weekend.
Speaking ahead of the matches, Arthur confirmed that the eventual champions will receive GH₵80,000 in prize money. In addition, the winning club will be awarded GH₵100,000 to help with preparations for continental competition, along with a share of the gate proceeds from the final.
“The winner of the MTN FA Cup final will receive GH₵100,000 for preparation for Africa, apart from the GH₵80,000 prize money and a share of the final gate proceeds,” Arthur said during an interview on Ultimate Sports Show on Asempa FM.
The competition resumes this weekend with the last eight teams battling for a place in the semi-finals. Matches will be staged at the Cape Coast Stadium and Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
On Saturday, Aduana FC will face Techiman Liberty Youth Club in one of the quarter-final ties.
Sunday’s fixtures will see Nations FC take on Berekum Chelsea at the Cape Coast Stadium. Meanwhile, Medeama SC will clash with Attram De Visser Soccer Academy at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, while Dreams FC face Heart of Lions in the final quarter-final encounter.
The stakes are high for the remaining clubs, as the winner of the tournament will earn the right to represent Ghana in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
