Serial goat thief and two others arrested for stealing 20 goats and sheep

A serial goat thief and ex-convict, Bismark Togbor aka Clement Tenge who operates in the Eastern and Greater Accra Regions has been nabbed by the Kibi District Police.

They are Bismark Togbor aka Clement Tenge, 43, Kwame Danso, 32 and Eric Owusu, 20 years.

According to our sources Bismark Togbor aka Clement Tenge who is the ring leader of the group is famed for stealing goats from villages in Asamankese, Kade, Oda, Akwatia and surrounding communities and then sell them off to unsuspecting chop bar operators within Kasoa and some parts of the Greater Accra Region.

Togbor was sentenced to serve a 90 day imprisonment for a similar offence at Kade in December 2020 by the Asamankese District Court.

But on Sunday 16th May, 2021, luck eluded Togbor and two of his accomplices as Police in Kibi got a distress call that some three persons in a red Toyota Saloon car with registration number GS 3332-20  were stealing goats and sheep at Akyem Akropong and were heading towards Kibi.

The Police patrol team led by C/Inspr. Jacob Narh Charway, G/Sgt. Justice Aidoo and G/Lcpl. Oko Agyekum quickly mounted a snap check on Adadientem - Kibi road, the suspects on realizing the police had erected a check point slammed through the blockade.

They were given a hot chase by the Police before the Police halted their vehicle by firing the offside front tyre and arrested them at Obretema on the highway.

After a search in the vehicle, the Police found 20 livestock  with 13 live goats, 5 dead goats and 2 sheep.

The Toyota corolla saloon with registration number GS 3332- 20 has been towed and impounded at the station. Photographs were taken and suspects detained for investigation.
