Summerville explains goal celebration with Kudus in West Ham's win over Man United
28th October 2024
West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville celebrated his goal with suspended teammate Mohammed Kudus during their 2-1 victory against Manchester United in the Premier League.
Summerville scored the game’s opening goal, helping the Hammers get back to winning form.
Kudus, sidelined by a three-game suspension after his red card against Tottenham, watched from the stands at the London Stadium.
After netting his goal, Summerville sprinted across the field to celebrate with Kudus, honoring a pre-match promise.
"I told Mo I would score when I came on and celebrate with him," Summerville shared, who was later awarded Man of the Match.
"I look up to Mo both on and off the pitch, and all the emotions came out in that moment."
Reflecting on his goal, he added, "You have to stay alert in the box. I stayed switched on and was lucky to be in the right place. I’ve been patient this season, but I bring energy every time I come on.
That’s what West Ham wanted when they signed me, and I think we brought some joy to the fans today."
Kudus is set to return after the international break, with a comeback planned for November 25.
