Volta Zongos declare strong support for Bawumia

A number of Zongo communities in the Volta Region, have thrown their unflinching support to the Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as he seeks to serve the country as President.
Dr. Bawumia has been touring the Volta Region since Sunday, and so far, he has visited over 10 constituencies, where has been engaging a wide range of stakeholders including the Clergy, traditional rulers as well as Imams and Zongo Chiefs of various communities.
As has been the trend in previous regions and constituencies he has visited, Zongos in the Volta Region have been declaring their unflinchong support, in the most emphatic manner.
In Kpando and Hohoe, which have large Zongo population, alongside other communities, have minced no words in throwing their support behind Dr. Bawumia
"By the grace of God, you wil be the next President of Ghana. We are happy to have you here and we pray to God to help you. May God uplift you. We are behind you and we pray to God to grant you victory," said Hohoe Imam, who spoke on behalf of Zongo communities in the Constituency represented by Imams, Zongo Chiefs and elders at a stakeholders forum with the Vice President.
In Kpando, the Imam, on behalf of Zongo communities in Kpando Constituency, prayed for Dr. Bawumia and also assured him of their support and continuous prayers.
The Imam was full of praise for Bawumia, for his compassion and the support, which he said, the Vice President has offered to "us and other Zongo communities."
"It is a great day to have you here and we thank God for what he has done for us. Dr. Bawumia has done so much, and this is the time for us to also express our gratitude to him with our finger (thumb).," said the Imam.
"Here in Kpando, the community has benefitted and many people have also benefitted from his generosity so we are behind him and we assure him of our support. We are behind him."
In Adaklu, the trend was no different, as the Zongo community, through its representatives, who spoke through the Chief Imam, said the entire Zongo was eagerly waiting for the swearing in of Dr. Bawumia as Ghana's next President.
"We want to tell Dr Bawunia that here in Adaklu Zongo, young and old, we are all eagerly awaiting his swearing in as President of Ghana."
In Juapong, the Zongo community thanked Dr. Bawumia and the NPP for the introduction of Free SHS, which he said, has helped them educate their children for free, as well as commended Dr. Bawumia for the numerous support he has extended to people.
"We are very grateful to the NPP for what it has done for the country and for us; especially giving us Free SHS, which has really helped us to educate our children for free," said the Chief Imam of Juapong, on behalf the Zongo communities.
"It is God that brought you this far and we are praying that He leads you to succeed. Your selection as the NPP's Flagbearer was good news to all of is and we are solidly behind you," he assured.
"We have heard of the Zongo Development Fund which was set up by the NPP and what it has done for other Zongo communities. Eventjough we are yet to benefit, we are hopeful that you have heard our concern and under your leadership, we will get our share of the development."
"We are are aware of the numerous support you have offered to many communities. We pray for for God to help you to be victorious," the Juapong Imam, flanked by Imams and Zongo Chiefs from other towns, said.
In Vakpo, the Zongo community also expressed their unflinching support to Dr. Bawumia, expressing their joy at having the Vice President on the cusp of becoming the President of Ghana.
"We are happy to have our senior brother going for this position and we are solidly behind him. We have heard of some propaganda against you trying to question your faith. But we know those doing that and we know you're a good Mislim with a good heart," he said.
The Imam added thag they would continue to pray for Dr. Bawumia to emerge victorious so that under his Presidency, development will spread in the nation and to many more Zongo communities, including Vakpo.
In Ketu North, Zongo Chiefs and Imams of from various towns in the Constituency, representing their respective communities, congregated in Dzodze on Wednesday, as part of Dr. Bawumia's engagements with Constituency stakeholders, spoke of how "they cannot forget the good works and support of Dr. Bawumia."
"We are proud of you and we are behind you. We are praying to Allah to see you through so that you can be victorious, and continue your good works for the country. "
