The family of the deceased 17-year old student of Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) wwho was shot by the police in the Western Region have stated that they will consult a deity if justice does not prevail in the judgment.


The shooter, Detective Corporal Adjei Shaibu is said to have pulled the trigger after mistaken Lawrence Baidoo, the deceased and his friends for armed robbers on Saturday.

The uncle of the student while speaking to Joy FM said that they will do everything to get justice if the police does not take necessary action.

“I am pleading with authorities of Ghana Police and government to help us seek justice. The matter should not be taken lightly simply because the suspect is a cop.

“If we don’t get justice from the police, we will use other means, including, consulting a deity,” he added.

Hoqwecer, the Cop involved in the matter has been barred by the Police administration.

The Police say everything is being done to investigate the case and whoever is found culpable will face the law.

“…The law will take its course so no one should feel the Police is trying to cover up for somebody,”Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service in the Western Region, ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku has said.
