Accra Lions head coach Ibrahim Tanko expressed his disappointment following a 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

The home side initially took the lead with a goal from Ali Mohammed, but just three minutes later, Stephen Amonkona equalized for Berekum Chelsea at the Legon Stadium.

This result leaves Accra Lions struggling in the league, with only one victory in their last six matches, placing them fifteenth on the standings with five points.

In his post-match comments, Tanko recognized the strength of their opponents, stating, “It's not a good result, and I'm not happy.

Berekum Chelsea was a very good side, with a very experienced technical team.” He highlighted the challenge of breaking through Chelsea’s defensive strategy, noting that they played conservatively, making it difficult for his team to capitalize on opportunities.

Looking ahead, Accra Lions are set to host Young Apostles on Friday, October 18, in match week seven, as they aim to turn their fortunes around.
