The Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa will be highly ignitied on July 26 when South Africa giants Kaizer Chiefs host Ghanaian football stalwarts, Asante Kotoko in the 2025 Toyota Cup.
The Toyota Cup which is an annual event that comes into play in the offseason period before preseason, saw Kaizer Chiefs host Tanzania champions, Young Africans in the 2024 edition at a sold-out event in Bloemfontein where the latter won by 4-0, thrashing the hosts.
Asante Kotoko will be walking into the highly anticipated game from a respectable season where they finished third place with 58 points on the league log in the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season.
They secured a qualification spot for the 2025/2026 CAF Confederation Cup competition after beating second-tier side, Golden Kicks 2-1 to clinch their 10th FA Cup title.
Marketing and Commercial Director of Kaizer Chiefs, Jessica Motaung expressed delight in drawing up the offseason fixture with the big boys from Ghana who are two time African champions.

On the part of Asante Kotoko, chairman of the club, Edmund Awuah Asafu-Adjaye (Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah) was over the moon about the importance of the exercise as he expressed immaculate joy and gratitude for the invitation to have Asante Kotoko feature in the Toyoto Cup.

There will be a curtain raiser gane between the Kaizer Chiefs Legends & Zulu Kingdom Legends which will include icons such as Doctor Khumalo, Sibusiso Zuma, Jabu Mahlangu, Delron Buckley and more.
