Aduana Stars have dismissed head coach Yaw Acheampong following a difficult start to their Ghana Premier League campaign.

The club, currently in 14th place with just one point separating them from the relegation zone, is expected to officially announce the decision soon.

Acheampong, 51, took charge of the team in August 2023, bringing prior experience from stints with Medeama, Elmina Sharks, and Eleven Wonders.

However, his tenure at Aduana has yielded only two wins, six draws, and four losses from 12 matches.

Sunday’s 2-0 home defeat to Asante Kotoko at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park appears to have been the tipping point for management, prompting the decision to relieve Acheampong of his duties.

Assistant coach Paul Tandoh will assume interim responsibilities as Aduana Stars search for a permanent replacement to steer them away from relegation trouble.
