Red-hot forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has expressed his delight after scoring twice to power FC Aarau to the top of the Swiss Challenge League table.

The Ghana international netted a brace as Aarau cruised to a 3-0 victory over Stade Lausanne at the Stade Brugglifeld on Monday night, maintaining their perfect start to the season.

Barnieh, who joined Aarau in the summer after mutually terminating his contract with FC Zürich, looks to have rediscovered his scoring touch. His brace took his tally to four goals in five matches.

After the game, the former Hearts of Oak star kept his message short and focused, posting on social media:

“Plus three points. We keep going.”

The 23-year-old opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a composed finish to put Aarau ahead. He struck again in the 63rd minute, effectively sealing the result for the home side.

Valon Fazliu added a stoppage-time goal to complete a dominant display as Aarau extended their unbeaten run to five straight wins.

Barnieh capped the night with a Man of the Match performance, lasting the full 90 minutes as Aarau underlined their promotion credentials.
