Walsall delivered a commanding performance at the Poundland Bescot Stadium, securing a resounding 4-0 victory over Colchester United in their League Two Round 8 clash.

Despite a balanced head-to-head record before the match—Walsall with 6 wins, Colchester with 6, and 9 draws—the home side showcased their superiority in front of a crowd of 5,140.

The scoring opened in the 39th minute when Jamie Jellis found the net, finishing off a well-placed assist from Taylor Allen.

Colchester, despite enjoying more possession, struggled to create clear chances and found themselves on the back foot.

Walsall’s veteran winger Albert Adomah, who came on as a substitute in the 71st minute, made an immediate impact by doubling the lead in the 79th minute with a composed finish following a clever team move.

Jack Earing capped off the impressive win with two late goals, first scoring in the 89th minute and then adding another in stoppage time after being set up by Nathan Lowe.

Colchester managed just nine shots throughout the match, failing to register any clear opportunities.

This dominant performance has left Walsall in high spirits as they prepare for their next fixture against Fleetwood on October 1st.
