Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo delivered a brilliant solo goal during AFC Bournemouth's 3-1 triumph over Southampton on Monday night, adding another impressive performance to his Premier League campaign.
Despite the dazzling display, Semenyo remained humble in his post-match comments.
Starting for Bournemouth, Semenyo played a pivotal role throughout the match.
His standout moment came late in the first half when he received a pass from the wing, skillfully dribbled past several Southampton defenders, and struck a low shot that found the back of the net.
In his post-match interview, Semenyo shared insights into his goal, explaining how he exploited the opposition's defense.
“I just tried to create some space and shoot, really,” the Black Stars striker said. “I got enough space, hit it hard and low, and it trickled in.
So I’m happy. I caught the defenders off guard, a chop, and like I said, I just wanted to create space and get a shot away. I did, and it went in.”
Semenyo’s goal marks his third in the Premier League this season, making him AFC Bournemouth’s top scorer since the start of the campaign.
His contributions have been vital in Bournemouth's push for results, with this latest strike further cementing his impact on the team.
Bournemouth now prepares for their next Premier League encounter against Leicester City, with Semenyo continuing to play a key role in their attacking lineup.
