Asante Kotoko triumph over Aduana in thrilling Dormaa encounter
25th November 2024
Asante Kotoko passed one of their toughest tests in the Ghana Premier League with a 2-0 win over Aduana FC at Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
Despite playing in challenging Dormaa conditions, the Porcupine Warriors showed resilience to secure all three points and move into 7th place with 18 points on the table.
It didn’t take long for Kotoko to assert their dominance, with young left-back Patrick Asiedu opening the scoring with a stunning free-kick in the 12th minute.
However, Aduana responded strongly, and just before halftime, they came close to equalizing, only for Kotoko’s defense to hold firm.
In the second half, Aduana’s high-risk approach almost paid off early on, but a counter-attack caught them off guard.
Kotoko capitalized on a misjudged clearance by Aduana’s goalkeeper Masawudu Inusah, allowing Albert Amoah to score in the 51st minute and seal the win for the visitors.
Despite continued pressure from Aduana, the Fire were unable to find the back of the net, and Kotoko’s clinical finishing made the difference.
This victory is a key moment for Kotoko, especially following their 1-1 draw against Nsoatreman last Saturday.
Aduana, on the other hand, are struggling and remain in 14th place with just 12 points, only one point above the relegation zone.
