Head coach of Ghana's senior women's football team, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has asserted that he and his charges will do everything in their capacity to win the bronze medal against South Africa in the 2024 Women's African Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) third place play off.
Swedish tactician and head coach of the Black Queens of Ghana, Kim Lars Bjorkegren has stated that the team is ready to go all out against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the third place play off encounter on Friday, July 25 2025 at the Stade Larbie Zaouli in Casablanca.
The Black Queens will look to build on their semi final loss on penalties against the hosts, Morocco who are now going to face record winners of the competition, Nigeria in the grand final as the look to clinch the third place at the expense of defending champions, the Banyana Banyana of South Africa who also lost in a painful 2-1 loss to Nigeria in the semi finals.
Speaking to the media ahead of the much anticipated encounter, the Swedish tactician noted that his team are ready and will go all out to claim bronze on Friday.
"We had a group of coaches, staff members, and players who were really disappointed but back on track again and focused on the next game," he said.
"We want to do the best we can to win it," Bjorkegren added.
The much anticipated penultimate game of the tournament promises to be a very magnificent one as both teams started their campaign in the opening Group C fixture of the tournament. The game is scheduled for 19:00 GMT at the Larbie Zaouli in Casablanca.
