Lecturer and Communications consultant, Prof. Etse Sikanku, has credited Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with the considerable reduction of politics of insults and indecency in the country.

Speaking at the review of his book "Dr. Bawumia and the Modern Vice Presidency," at the Islamic University on Friday, Prof. Sikanku said, throughout his political life, and now, as Presidential Candidate, Dr. Bawumia has demonstrated "remarkable" decency in his campaign and public engagements, which he observed, has significantly contributed to reducing tension in the country.

"Dr. Bawumia is a decent politician and he has demonstrated that over time in his political career, and more more importantly, as Presidential Candidate," Prof. Sikanku said.

"He is decent in the way he does his things, and very decent in his communication. He does not insult even when provoked and clearly, this has contributed significantly to reducing tension.'

"His decency has also changed the political landscape of the country because what the leader does, his tone is very impotant."

Prof. Etse Sikanku also hailed Dr. Bawumia as a hardworking leader who gets the job done, highlighting a number of impactful initiatives Bawumia has led, inspite of being in the limited role of Vice President.

Prof. Sikanku, who has done extensive research on Vice Presidential roles in Ghana and the United States, rated Dr. Bawumia as the most impactful Vice President Ghana has ever had.

He likened Dr. Bawumia to celebrated former US Vice President, Walter Mondale, who is credited for redefining the role of a US Vice President, which was largely ceremonial before him.
