Ghana's Black Sharks suffered a 6-3 defeat to hosts Egypt in the opening match of the 2024 Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Hurghada Beach Soccer Arena on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Despite a hat-trick from Ghana’s all-time Beach Soccer AFCON top scorer, Alexander Adjetey Adjei, the Black Sharks couldn't overcome Egypt's offensive dominance in what was a thrilling encounter.

The match began with both teams showing their attacking intent, with each side hitting the post twice during the opening period.

However, it was Egypt who seized control in the second period, racing to a 3-0 lead before Ghana managed to pull one back.

Egypt continued their relentless attack, eventually extending their lead despite Ghana's efforts to rally behind Adjei's three goals.

The victory places Egypt at the top of Group A, while Ghana will look to bounce back as they face Morocco and Tanzania in their remaining group matches.
