Black Sherif opens up about missing out on Grammy nomination

Ghanaian rapper and singer Black Sherif has disclosed that he submitted his works for consideration in the 66th Grammy Awards but did not receive a nomination.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on Hitz FM, the “Kwaku The Traveller” hitmaker revealed that he filed entries for Best African Music Performance and Best Global Album.

“I would be very happy if they nominated me, but e no even shift me as dem no nominate me. I am not shaken, I am not touched,” he said, adding that he remains focused and motivated.

Despite missing out on the Grammys, Black Sherif expressed strong optimism about winning Artiste of the Year at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, confidently asking the hosts, “We deserve it. What do you think?”

His debut album, Iron Boy, released on April 3, 2025, has achieved remarkable success, becoming one of the most streamed Ghanaian projects of the year.
