12th September 2023

A potentially catastrophic situation was narrowly averted on Tuesday morning when the coach carrying the Women's Premier League team, Berry Ladies, burst into flames in Suhum, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The bus was en route to Kyebi as part of their pre-season preparations when the incident unfolded.
The bus, carrying players and members of the technical team, encountered the terrifying blaze, but fortunately, quick action prevented any harm.
All occupants safely disembarked from the bus before any serious accident could occur.
Berry Ladies' coach, Paul Amponsah Freeman, confirmed the incident during an interview with Koforidua-based Bryte
FM. He expressed his gratitude to the Suhum Fire Service for their prompt response, which played a vital role in ensuring the safety of everyone on board.
Freeman stated, "It is true, our team bus caught fire, thanks to the Suhum Fire Service who rescued us, we are all safe, no one got hurt. We are yet to know the cause of this incident. We boarded a different bus to continue our trip to Kyebi and have successfully arrived."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the primary relief is that all members of Berry Ladies' team and staff escaped unscathed from this harrowing incident.
