Diagnosed with stage three cancer and facing a 50/50 chance of survival, Yvonne, a Ghanaian based in Germany, has chosen to use this as an opportunity to confess all her wrongdoings.
The 39-year-old woman, who has had both her breasts removed, is currently bedridden but is determined to make her confession from her sickbed.
Yvonne disclosed that she and her partner were involved in a range of criminal activities, such as credit card fraud, car theft, and trafficking stolen goods to Ghana, among other crimes.
"I was financially stable and earning my own money. Then I met this guy, who was a very bad person. He taught me a lot of bad things.
"I engaged in credit card fraud, bank fraud, stealing of cars, and so on. My partner gets the lists from the banks, checks what the victims have in their accounts, and transfers them into theirs. I was the one placing the call to these international banks, asking for the amount they had in their accounts. They freely gave me the information because I came fully prepared, with the details of their accounts, as though I were them," she stated in an interview with Kofi TV.
On the issue of stealing cars and shipping them to Ghana, she said, "We stole from car rental services too. I will call these rental services on the phone, contact them about renting a car, and give it to my man to ship to Ghana."
She said her partner was also into black charm, which was used to hypnotise their victims after duping them. "My partner was into black charms (juju) as well, so after duping the victims, he would use charms on them."
Specifying the type of people they usually dupe, she stated, "We duped both blacks and foreigners, especially rich people. My partner has links and has been to a lot of prominent places, even Buckingham Palace."
Nonetheless, Yvonne suspects that her current predicament is perhaps her punishment for all the wrongs she has done to people.
"I am currently suffering because of all the bad things I've done to people. All the things I did to people came with stress.
"I don't understand what happened because I was a healthy eater. I don't drink or smoke. I think it's spiritual," she retorted.
Asked about the whereabouts of her partner, she disclosed, "When I fell ill, he abandoned me. Now he looks like a ghost."
She, however, cautioned the youth against greed and the indiscriminate pursuit of money.
"I want to warn the youth. If you love money so much that you let it control you, you will end up like me. You will lose a lot of good people.
"I don't want anyone to tow my path. Don't follow money; be with someone who genuinely loves and cares for you. Not someone who will ruin your life," she emphasised.
