Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner lauded Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew for his standout performance in the club’s 3-1 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Stateside Cup.

Ayew, 32, showcased his exceptional skill by beautifully controlling a long pass from goalkeeper Dean Henderson before scoring a superb goal to give Palace a 2-0 lead.

His influence didn’t stop there, as he later provided an assist for Asher Agbinone’s goal, highlighting his versatility and contribution to the team’s success.

Glasner was particularly impressed with Ayew's technical prowess and composure. "Jeffrey Schlupp, what a finish from 30 or 40 yards," Glasner remarked.

"Also, the second goal—a strike from Dean [Henderson, with the assist], and how Jordan takes the ball, the technical ability is amazing, and then the finish as well."

He also praised Agbinone, who scored a well-taken goal despite being with the squad for only three days, saying, "And then I really enjoyed Asher: 18 years old, he’s been with us for three days. He did a great finish, so it was a very nice goal."

Ayew’s impressive display comes amidst reports linking him with a move away from Selhurst Park, with Leicester City reportedly expressing interest in acquiring his services.

Despite these rumors, Ayew’s recent performances continue to highlight his significant value to Crystal Palace.
