Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has revealed that a new headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League will be announced shortly, following the sudden termination of the previous partnership with betPawa.
The sponsorship deal with betPawa was expected to run for three years but was abruptly ended just three months in, without an official explanation. The collapse of the agreement left Ghana’s top-tier league without a title sponsor, sparking concerns over the league’s financial sustainability and the impact on clubs.
Speaking in an interview with GHOne TV, Okraku, who also serves as CAF’s 2nd Vice President, assured stakeholders that efforts are well underway to secure a replacement.
"The Ghana Football Association has been working around the clock to secure new sponsors for the league, and we will make an announcement soon," he said.
With only three matches left in the 2024/25 GPL season, the GFA is hopeful that the new sponsorship deal will provide a much-needed financial boost and help restore faith in the league’s commercial appeal. The anticipated announcement is expected to usher in renewed support for clubs, improve league operations, and strengthen fan engagement.
