Dancegod Lloyd explains why he turns down dance challenge requests

Renowned Ghanaian dancer and choreographer Dancegod Lloyd has revealed that he turns down numerous requests to create dance challenges, citing the need to be intentional with his choices especially as a role model for young fans.
Speaking on the Top Secret segment of NF Studio on August 23, 2025, the creative mind behind King Promise’s viral “Terminator” dance said the lyrical content of a song is his first consideration.
"I have rejected a lot of songs. A lot of kids look up to me, so if the content of the song does not make sense, like with the lyrics, if they are too profane, yeah," he said.
Beyond the lyrics, Dancegod Lloyd shared that creative chemistry also plays a major role. Some songs, he admitted, simply don’t inspire choreography and when that happens, he’s not afraid to step aside.
"Yeah, sometimes you don’t get what you want, and you let it be. Let it go to the next person. I try as much as possible to be human," he stated.
Known for fusing rhythm, movement, and storytelling, Dancegod Lloyd has been instrumental in pushing Ghana’s dance culture onto the global stage but says his integrity and influence matter just as much as going viral.
