Leyton Orient secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Milton Keynes Dons in the EFL Trophy, edging closer to qualification for the next stage of the competition.

The match started at a fast pace, with Orient taking control early. Charlie Kelman opened the scoring in the 6th minute, finishing neatly into the bottom left corner.

The lead was doubled in the 21st minute when Sonny Perkins latched onto a precise assist from Kelman, firing home from close range.

MK Dons responded in the 33rd minute when Callum Hendry struck a sensational long-range shot to halve the deficit.

However, Leyton Orient's defense remained resolute, with key saves and timely interceptions keeping the visitors from equalizing.

In stoppage time, English-born Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei wrapped up the win, finishing a rapid counterattack. Assisted by Diallang Jaiyesimi, Agyei remained calm under pressure, slotting the ball past the keeper to secure the victory.

The win levels the all-time record between the two teams at five wins apiece. Leyton Orient now turn their focus to their upcoming League One clash with Stevenage.
