Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi has expressed his delight after earning his first-ever call-up to Ghana’s senior national team for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The 24-year-old shared his excitement on social media, describing the moment as a "proud milestone" in his career.

Speaking to Kotoko’s media team, Antwi said, "I have been waiting for this opportunity for a very long time, and it's a dream come true. It confirms that I made the right choice by joining Asante Kotoko."

Antwi’s selection comes on the back of impressive performances in the Ghana Premier League this season.

He has featured in every match for Kotoko, scoring once and playing a pivotal role in their campaign to contend for the league title.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo’s decision to include Antwi reflects his strategy to integrate emerging talents into the squad for these crucial qualifiers.

Antwi will line up alongside fellow local players Razak Simpson and Isaac Afful in the team.

Antwi’s journey to this point is especially compelling, as he joined Kotoko in July following a difficult season at Great Olympics, where he faced relegation.

His progression from a struggling club to earning a spot on the national team underscores his determination and growth as a player.

Ghana will take on Angola in Luanda on November 15, followed by a home fixture against Niger in Accra on November 18.
