Ghana international Ernest Nuamah is eager to leave a lasting impact in the UEFA Europa League after making a promising debut for Olympique Lyon.

The talented winger was instrumental in his team’s 2-0 victory over Olympiacos Piraeus last week, showcasing his skills and determination throughout the match.

Nuamah was a constant threat on the flanks, utilizing his pace and creativity to challenge the Greek side's defense.

He started the game and played for 81 minutes, contributing significantly to Lyon's attacking play and earning a solid match rating of 7.2.

In his Instagram post, Nuamah expressed his enthusiasm: “A good start to kick off our Europa League journey. First taste of Europa League and a win to round up a great team performance. Hungry for more.”

The match saw Lyon break the deadlock in the 65th minute when Rayan Cherki scored, assisted by Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Wilfried Zaha later set up Said Benrahma for the second goal, sealing the victory.

Having recovered from a recent injury, Nuamah is expected to be recalled to the Black Stars squad for the upcoming international break in October.

Ghana will face Sudan in a crucial doubleheader as they continue their campaign to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
