Finance Ministry and BoG deny false claims on Databank’s Bond Market role

The Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana have issued a clarification addressing false claims circulating that Databank has been re-affirmed or endorsed as a Bond Market Specialist for the Government of Ghana.

The institutions described the claims as misleading and urged the public not to rely on the circulating information.

For accuracy, the Bank of Ghana, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, issued an official notice on February 10, 2026 (NOTICE NO. BOG/FMD/2026/08), detailing the revised and authoritative list of current Primary Dealers (PDs) and Bond Market Specialists (BMSs).

Both the Ministry and the Bank emphasised that only the information contained in the official notice should be considered valid regarding the status of Bond Market Specialists.
