Ghanaian gospel artist Kofi Owusu Peprah has called on his fellow musicians to focus on the spiritual mission of their ministry rather than on financial gains.

In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show, Mr. Peprah reflected on the teachings of Jesus Christ, noting that Christ did not demand payment for the salvation He offered.

He stated that the essence of ministry should not be about money but rather about serving others through faith.
“We have not been called to make money out it. My plea is that as Christians, we shouldn’t be so rigid and hard fisted on how people should get you. You need to consider a lot of things like the size of the church. Let’s not be so strict; it’s not cast in stone. If you had to put a charge on the message of the cross, how much will it be? You can’t put a price on the cross,” he said.

Mr. Peprah also stressed the importance of understanding the logistical needs for musicians performing at events.

While he advocates for fair compensation, he believes that those who are truly guided by the Holy Spirit will naturally want to compensate the artist for their contributions.
“If anybody invites you and the person truly has the Holy Spirit in him or her, the person wouldn’t have a problem with some of these things,” he said.
