Fulani herdsman shot dead by farmer in Kwahu

A Fulani herdsman at ‘Agyabura’ a suburb of Kwahu Tafo in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern region has reportedly been shot dead a 71-year-old farmer in a robbery operation.

The incident occurred Wednesday dawn around 3:00am according to a resident, Nana Quaku.

Eye witness account says the deceased, name yet to be identified who is allegedly a Fulani herdsman met his untimely death in the process of operation when he together with two others attempted to rob a 71 year old farmer, Mr Francis Adu Donyina.

Speaking to Agoo fm’s Ebenezer Kojo Nyavor (K-Lover), the Septuagenarian, Mr Francis Adu Donyina said, the deceased and his friends suspected to be armed robbers broke into his home to steal but were unsuccessful.

According to him, the suspected robbers while struggling to enter the room instructed him to release monies available but he was bold enough to conquer them.

‘Around 3:00am I was in my village when I heard noise suddenly I woke up and realized armed robbers were trying to break into my room. They begun to shoot the moment I asked who was there so I decided to keep silent. They struggled to enter the room so I didn’t hesitate to shoot one of them. He died instantly but the rest were able to escape.’ the old farmer said.

Mr Francis Adu Donyina revealed that the deceased few days ago had visited him requesting for water saying, the deceased used such opportunity to spy on him and the entire village.

The incident has been reported to the Kwahu Tafo Police Command who conveyed the body to Atibie Government hospital, whiles investigations are underway.
