Ghana Police arrest two men for torturing 12-year-old boy for alleged theft

The Ghana Police Service has successfully rescued a 12-year-old boy who was subjected to inhumane treatment by two adult men in New Ankasa near Elubo in the Western Region.
The shocking incident, captured in a viral video circulating widely on social media, showed the minor tied with a nylon rope to a stationary pole, crying and pleading while being beaten mercilessly.
In a particularly disturbing portion of the footage, the child was even suspended from the roof of a building and continued to endure violent assault.
The attackers reportedly accused him of stealing GHC200.00.
The suspects, identified as Issah Morro (58) and Suleman Abdul Rashid (27), have since been arrested by the Elubo Police and are currently in custody assisting with investigations.
The young victim has been transported to a nearby medical facility, where he is receiving comprehensive medical and psychological care.
Authorities have confirmed that once his treatment is complete, he will be reunited with his father under appropriate care arrangements.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of thorough investigations and has reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights of children and ensuring that perpetrators of such cruel acts are held accountable under the law.
