I have a good relationship with her– Piesie Esther on Empress Gifty rumours

Gospel musician Piesie Esther has dismissed rumours suggesting a strained relationship between her and fellow gospel artiste Empress Gifty, winner of the 2025 Ghana Music Awards USA Artiste of the Year.

Speculation began after Piesie's appearance on Power FM on Saturday, September 13, 2025. During the interview, host Agyeman Prempeh asked her to name the winner of the Artiste of the Year category.

Piesie hesitated before eventually acknowledging Empress Gifty.

When asked whether she had congratulated Empress on her win, Piesie noted that no one had congratulated her when she won Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards Europe.

This comment sparked conversation on social media and led some fans to suggest possible tension between the two artists.

However, addressing the issue on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie on Hitz FM, Piesie Esther set the record straight.
“The reason I didn’t want to mention Empress’s name on Agyeman’s show was that when she won the award people said a lot about it. Some said she deserved it, others said otherwise. By God’s grace the controversy died down, so the moment you raise it again then you want it to escalate. That was why I didn’t want to bring her into the conversation."

She emphasized that there is no animosity between them.

"I don’t have any problem with Empress Gifty. I don’t know anyone who can boldly say I have an issue with him or her. It will not happen. I have a good relationship with Gifty. We talk,” she said.

Meanwhile, Piesie Esther has released a new single titled "Nyame Ye", which is already gaining traction among gospel music fans.
