Former President John Mahama has replied to critics on his comeback, arguing that the main reasons are the current mismanagement and incompetence displayed by the Akufo-Addo government.

According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, the presidency is a job that requires experienced people and not a family property to be passed on to another.

He, therefore, believes his experience as a politician makes him the best candidate, adding he has learnt enviable lessons to redirect Ghana back on track.

Mr Mahama said this while addressing chiefs and the people in Asunafo South as part of his Ahafo Regional tour.

“When he[Akufo-Addo] was sworn in on January 7, 2017, I was confident my successor will take the country to the next level but that did not happen if not, by now I would have retired to rest at home but considering how things have turned out, it will be selfish on my part not to re-contest to rescue and reset Ghana on the right path,” he stated.

Mr. Mahama reminded the gathering that the struggles facing the country is being felt by every citizen, hence they should make the right choices come December. 7.
