I wrote ‘Dami Duro’ for Davido – Bigiano
20th December 2025
Nigerian singer Bigiano has claimed that he contributed to the creation of Davido’s hit song Dami Duro, saying he wrote the song’s hook.
Bigiano made the claim during a recent interview with content creator Akin Abolade, popularly known as Shayo. “I wrote Dami Duro for Davido. I wrote the hook,” he said.
Explaining his absence from the music scene in recent years, the singer said he deliberately took a break to prepare for a strong comeback. “Sometimes, you have to take a break to be able to come back again. I went on a sabbatical to make my return to music massive," he explained.
Bigiano also dismissed suggestions that his time away from music has affected him financially. “I can’t be broke,” he said, insisting he remains financially stable.
Released in 2011, Dami Duro played a major role in launching Davido into the spotlight and has since been ranked among the greatest Afrobeats songs of all time by several local and international music enthusiasts.
Despite Bigiano’s claim, he is not officially credited as a co-writer of the song, and Davido has yet to respond publicly to the assertion.
