The Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, has dismissed the smear campaign against him, emphasizing that he is unconcerned by the attacks on his character.

He explained that his decision to work with the ruling government is motivated by his desire to secure developmental projects for his constituents.

Frimpong referenced Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, the former MP for the constituency, who lost the 2016 elections after serving from 2013 to 2017.

He attributed Baah Agyemang’s failure to deliver development during his tenure to the challenges of being in the opposition at the time, under President John Mahama’s administration.

Frimpong stated that he would not repeat the same mistakes as his predecessor and clarified his position on the smear campaign.

In a post, he mentioned that, as an independent candidate, he has the freedom to work with either the Majority (NDC) or Minority (NPP) in Parliament to ensure development for his constituency.

He also defended his decision to align with the government in power, as he had promised during his campaign.

He reminded his constituents that both he and President John Mahama serve the same people, urging them to support the development of the region regardless of their political affiliations.
