Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew expressed his delight after netting his first goal for Leicester City, helping the Foxes secure a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Southampton in an action-packed Premier League week ten clash.

The 33-year-old scored the decisive goal late in the match, sealing a remarkable comeback after Leicester trailed 2-0. Southampton's Cameron Archer opened the scoring, and Joe Aribo doubled the lead for the Saints.

Leicester's fightback began with Facundo Buonanotte pulling one back in the 64th minute, followed by Jamie Vardy's equalizer ten minutes later. Ayew then delivered the winner in the dying moments of the game, securing the victory.

Reflecting on the match and his first league goal for Leicester, Ayew expressed excitement and confidence in his abilities.

“It was obviously my first goal for the club in the league, and it took a bit of time, but I believe in myself and my abilities. I know I can contribute a lot, and I’m happy for the fans, for myself, and for my family,” he said.

Ayew is now looking forward to continuing his form as Leicester City prepares to face Nottingham Forest at the King Power Stadium on Friday, October 25, 2024.
