Jordan vs Andre – Who Is the More Complete Ayew Brother?
14th November 2018
When you mention the Ayew family it is one of a Ghanaian dynasty, headed up by legendary forward Abedi. The former Marseille player can call himself father to three professional players, Ibrahim, Jordan and Andre.
Of this trio it is fair to say that Ibrahim has not been fortunate enough to reach the same heights as that of his two brothers, especially when you consider that they have both not only played in the Premier League but also for the same club.
That club was Swansea City, but their time in South Wales has come to an end after the Swans suffered relegation to the EFL Championship last season. However, with both Jordan and Andre on display in England’s top flight as of recent times it does lend itself to a very pertinent question.
A question that asks who is the more complete player, Jordan or Andre? At two years Jordan’s senior, it is perhaps an answer that points in the direction of the oldest of the Ayew brotherhood trio. That of course being, Andre.
That stint in Marseille then led to a move to Swansea, a deal that caught the attention of many as he was signed on a free transfer. Something that meant his goal return offered even more value for money as he scored 12 league goals in his first season there. On Matchbook, the odds for such a performance were pretty high.
However, since then he has been blighted with injuries and if anything, we are starting to see a downward spiral in terms of his career. A move to West Ham failed to produce the same magic, while a return to Swansea last season could do little to halt their relegation in May.
Therefore, if Andre has had the better career to date, then perhaps there is still more for Jordan to give. He is now playing for his third Premier League club, although at the same time this could be a warning to current employers.
