Kaakyire Kwame Appiah reveals he has 18 children with nine women

Veteran Highlife musician Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has revealed that he is the proud father of 18 children with nine different women, insisting he has no reason to hide the truth about his personal life.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM on November 10, 2025, the celebrated artiste said he was aware that his revelation might spark criticism but maintained that he values honesty over public opinion.

“I have eighteen children with nine different women. I know people will criticise me, but honestly, what do you gain by hiding something that already exists?

All my children know one another. When you see how close they are, you’d even think they share the same mother. The youngest is four months old,” he stated.

Kaakyire described his large family as a divine blessing, saying that while some struggle to have even one child, he considers himself fortunate to have many.

“I have been blessed by God. Some people can’t have children, but I have eighteen. That’s a gift,” he said.

The Highlife legend, known for hits such as Bronya, added playfully that he is still strong and open to having more children.

“I wanted twenty-five children. If it happens that way, I would be very happy,” he said jokingly.

Despite his large family, Kaakyire emphasised that his children maintain a close relationship and strong unity, often surprising outsiders who assume they all share the same mother.
